Science Centre (Govt.) M.P. is a voluntary organization working in the field of science popularization and public science movement. Science Centre started its work in 1987 but the organization was formally established in 1988. In its short tenure, the Science Centre gave a new direction to science popularization in a very backward area of Madhya Pradesh by giving it the form of a movement. Thousands of children, teachers, volunteers, villagers, and common people are included in this organization of Science Centre. Children Science Councils were established by the Science Centre with the objective of developing scientific thinking in children and promoting scientific activities. Along with this, the Science Centre made many successful efforts in the direction of removing blind beliefs and hypocrisy. The achievements of the organization have been very significant in the past years. Through its programs such as science rallies, science songs, science dramas, science quizzes, seminars, and surveys, the organization has directly connected lakhs of people. Science Center has also organized many training programs for volunteers of other voluntary organizations in the country. With the objective of developing scientific attitude in children and teachers and teaching them scientific methods , the organization started Bal Vigyan Congress and Shikshak Vigyan Conference. The main objective behind this is to promote the habit of learning science in a playful way and learning by doing by oneself among children and teachers. Other activities of the ,Science Center include nature study activities, scientific explanation of miracles, science writing workshops, drinking water surveys activities, clean up school activity, science festival, water literacy campaign, public science festival, Chambal Valley Bachao Andolan and health activities. The activities of Science Centre (Guwahati) M.P. have been appreciated by many state governments and national-level voluntary organizations. The institution was awarded the Best Science Popularization Award by the National Council of Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 1992 and the founder secretary of the institution, the late Shri Arun Bhargava was given this award in 2001 for popularizing science among children.
